Meet Brad Best: Fine Woodworking

I have been interested in woodworking since taking my first high school shop class over twenty years ago.  Since then, I've been blessed to pursue two adventurous careers, first as an Army infantryman and then as a cargo pilot.  However, when presented with the chance to pursue woodworking as a profession, I jumped at the opportunity.   I've spent the last eight years refining my skills while building furniture for my home and for friends and family and started my own woodworking business.  I primarily work with domestic hardwoods but often use exotic woods as accent pieces. I use traditional joinery techniques such as mortise and tenon, dovetail and finger joints. I have found I get the best results through a combination of hand tools and power tools. The best part about woodworking is getting to build something that will be around long after I am gone.  In a world where many things are not made to last, it is incredibly rewarding to build heirloom-quality furniture that will only get better with age.
